BIO
Freedom, money, a story of CFA franc is a feature-length documentary about this currency inherited from the French colonial system and still in circulation in a dozen African countries. The film combines archival footage and interviews with economists, intellectuals and former political leaders, taking us on a journey through the continent’s history, from the end of the 19th century to the present day.
Lena Ndiaye’s previous films, On a le temps pour nous, En attendant les hommes and Traces Empreintes de femmes, have been awarded at numerous festivals.
