Synopsis

Mambar Pierrette is the story of a powerful woman struggling to maintain her trade as a seamstress and her life as a single mother in the rain-swept streets of Douala. Although technically a narrative feature, its director’s experience as a documentary filmmaker translates into her observational way of filming Pierrette’s daily life. With a cast of mostly professional actors and actresses playing themselves, the sense of authenticity of this intensely real drama is emphasised.
